Business Development & Recruiting Manager

Location: St. Louis

We seek an experienced business development and recruiting professional in St. Louis to join the Keyhole Software team. This person will lead the new business development efforts & Keyhole presence in the St. Louis territory.

The Company

Keyhole Software is a software development consulting firm. We engage with mid-sized and enterprise-level clients to help them to create custom software via the services of our expert software developers, software architects, and project experts. Keyhole Software Headquarters is in Kansas City, with technical teams also located in St. Louis, MO, and Lincoln, NE.

Our focus is expert consulting, helping clients via architecture, development, education and mentoring to keep ahead in an ever-changing technical landscape. We prefer to assist clients on a Statement of Work or project basis.

The Team

We are a flat & lean organization with a true focus on technology. (Nearly all of our 80+ employees are working with clients on a daily basis as consultants.) Our tight-knit sales team consists of three individuals residing in the Kansas City area. This role is to add to our current sales team as the dedicated salesperson in St. Louis. This role allows the right person to possess ownership of their territory and work to grow it. Our goal is emulate the type of team dynamic we have in Kansas City and bring it to St. Louis.

The Opportunity

This role will focus on the growth of the Keyhole St. Louis footprint as a whole, from both a client and team level.

New Business Development / Client Management

This person will lead the Keyhole new business development efforts for the St. Louis territory. He or she will work to grow relationships with mid-sized and enterprise-level companies in an effort to sell Keyhole consulting services.

This role will be responsible for the entire sales cycle, from prospect through to engagement / client management. This includes lead opportunity generation, qualification, proposal and statement of work creation, negotiating, and closing sales opportunities. Must possess creativity for unique and compelling value propositions for customer decision-makers.

Sales efforts will be supported by the other members of the sales team. However, as the only Keyhole salesperson located in St. Louis, this person must have the ability to create & run with their own ideas to grow their territory.

Recruiting / Team Management

As you engage with new clients & bring in additional requirements, we will need to recruit and hire to expand our current St. Louis team. This role includes assisting recruiting personnel with finding the right new hires to bring aboard help meet your clients’ needs.

To be successful in this role, it’s important that you have a true understanding of employee capabilities and personality so that you can ensure that client projects are worked by the right Keyhole team members. As such, it’s important to continually engage with Keyhole team members. You will help to ensure that our St. Louis team members are adequately supported in the projects they work and have all the tools we can provide them to be successful.

Key Requirements

  • B2B sales experience with proven background of success
  • Understanding of the software development process and major technology terms
  • Presentable, professional, and committed to excellence where the client comes first always
  • Strong negotiating, communication skills
  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to grow potential business with minimal supervision
  • Professional degree required (Bachelor’s or above)

Compensation will be based upon previous salary history.
