- Title: Manual Quality Assurance Tester
- Location: Lenexa, KS — On-site Monday/Wednesday/Friday (remote Tuesday & Thursday)
- Engagement Type: 6-month contract (with strong likelihood of extension after quality delivery)
- Eligibility: Candidates must be authorized to work and reside in the United States and be physically located in the greater Kansas City area. No Corp-to-Corp (C2C) or Contract-to-Hire (C2H). At this time, Keyhole Software is unable to provide visa sponsorship.
About the Role
Keyhole Software is seeking a Manual QA Tester to support a long-term, highly valued enterprise client in the Kansas City area. This is a client-facing consulting role where you will work alongside product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.
This engagement offers excellent team culture, strong delivery practices, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a mature product environment with consistent roadmap investment.This role is ideal for a tester who enjoys working across the full application stack—validating UI, APIs, and database layers—and can ramp up quickly in a fast-moving product environment.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role in a multi-application environment. Success here comes from being engaged, adaptable, and willing to jump in where needed — learning new workflows quickly, supporting a wide range of systems, and helping the team get high-quality work across the finish line. Over time, there will be opportunities to help modernize testing practices and improve how quality is approached across the portfolio.
Your Responsibilities
- Execute manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Create, maintain, and enhance test cases and test plans
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
- Work closely with developers and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and story grooming
- Validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes in a fast-moving environment
- Perform end-to-end and UI testing across integrated systems
- Execute API testing using tools such as Postman
- Perform SQL-based data validation to confirm system behavior and expected outcomes
- Ensure releases meet quality standards before production deployment
- Provide clear, actionable feedback that improves product quality and team velocity
- Ramp up quickly on a variety of applications and business workflows
- Operate as a flexible, “get it done” quality partner across multiple workstreams
- Help identify opportunities to improve and modernize testing practices over time
Required Qualifications
- Highly engaged, self-directed, and comfortable working in environments with evolving priorities and multiple applications
- 3+ years of professional experience in manual software testing
- Strong experience with:
- Test case creation and execution
- Defect tracking and test management tools
- Agile / Scrum delivery environments
- Advanced SQL skills for data validation and backend testing
- Hands-on experience with API testing using tools such as Postman
- Experience testing web-based applications
- Proven ability to learn quickly in new systems, workflows, and business domains
- Exceptional attention to detail with a quality-first mindset
- Ability to interpret business and technical requirements and translate them into test scenarios
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, qTest, TestRail)
- Experience supporting UAT and release cycles
- Previous consulting experience
- Exposure to test automation frameworks (nice to have, not required)
